decision determines your destiny
I am embarking on a journey that takes me down memory lane once again. Theatre is indeed in my blood and creativity is what breathes out from me. If I am that good then let my decision to go back into theatre set out and firm out into old foundations which I looked away a long time back.
Now I am working with Natalie, a long time friend who still believes in me and my craft. I want to thank her so much in believing in me and willing to even pay me to help me get going into the industry which is rather a small one. I heard Danny once said that artist or art people do not really have a place in society as society demands people who can solve problems and give solutions to a higher living or a higher learning. He seems almost philosophical but a definite wise nugget to be pondering over it.
Ian is immersing into theatre. He needs to manage time and organisation of priorities since there are lots of things to be added in his life now, not forgetting Angela, CHC School of Theology and the productions that are ahead. I am still looking for a part time job to fill out my afternoons but none seems to come...pls come "afternoon job" come look for me and I seek as well.
Brighton Community Church will be going into a "BIG" revamp soon since the youth is about to combine with the adults perhaps in mid-April. A big move, with perhaps BIG HOPE to see things cheering up. However there things I wish to have a say on my blog which perhaps none other opportunities given to say or maybe even get implemented.
1) Have a dress theme for the worship team please. It looks like a fashion disaster on stage. The cool projection background does not help the team who is not helping themselves in that area. Chin Teck, please BURN those brown shoes!
2) If we are progressing as a church then we need to keep up with times. Our bulletin cum flyer cum phamplet really reminds me of students giving out paper info at SIM LIM or commercial areas, and most of the times it ends up into the bin. Can we have it all church info on cards perhaps like over-sized postcards with a relevant edge to it, sending out signals that we are serious and progressive church that demands excellence. God's progressiveness and creativity pouring out in every medium in our church. This helps people to be engaged in something fresh.
3) Spend some money to educate and to renovate into church presentation and the congregation. Then I guess with much prayer and word in our lives, revival is imminent, than to save money and look like we worship in the 90s.

A Progressive Cell Group Gathering
Today I was invited to a CHC cell group meeting at Queenstown upon a friend's invitation. It has been really long since I had a normal cell group kinda cell group where people come from diverse backgrounds and not all are really leaders nor upfront personnels which gives the down to earth edge to this combination.
As I stepped into the house, orange colored lights were dimly lit, just enough to illuminate the room to give that kind of cottage warmth. Hand painted art works, crafted figurines, decorated laces, comfy country chairs and paper mache flowers were there all around to greet me and the fellow cell mates that I got to know before we started on the wonderful game to get all to be comfortable with one another.
God was present indeed and worshipping God was never more giving, more love and more praise flowing here and there. It made me realised that I miss God, I yearn for His words, His revelation and His ... everything...really everything! Spiritual hunger was in ignition. I mean I was hungry but more this time and the motivation for it was to understand that I am thirsty.
Takeaway of the evening: Jesus most precious words "Follow Me" God is progressive, never static, never stationary. Always moving from point to point. Hence we need to keep up as our God is a progressive God. To keep up, we need to be spiritually hungry because in progression, the journey the long, the weather is harsh so what is going to sustain us?
The life of a believer equates to a walk hence walking with Jesus
gives us revelation
gives us progression
gives us illumination
this will not only sustain but gives us the progression to go from strength to strength, glory to glory.
Bible study ended with a high note and all fellowshipped in food and thanksgiving. Walked Angela home after that and MRT back to my home. I thank God today and the rest of the days that I will get more of Him from the opportunities given to me.

For Ian so far...in 2007
Now that you hear from me after so long, it means that I didn't make it to Modestos CA afterall. The trip blew off due to irresponsibility and complicated VISA problems.
No more internship with Calvary Temple Worship Centre
No more discipleship with Jeremy Johnson
No more getting to live the American dream for 9 months
No more getting all in debts just for this trip
I like to thank you all who believed in me, encouraged me and to the people who had the desire of sponsoring me for this study stint. So that closes one chapter of my likfe which end up no where.
So where will Ian be heading next? Is he dominantly and stubbornly grasping on to that dream of a Youth Pastor? Truthfully...Ian still desires but he will have to let God do the promoting. Now due to some changes within Church with messy politics involved, Youth Ministry is going to combine with adults...*silence*...seriously YUCKS but hey Brighton Youth has reach a plateau which warrants for many things to happen and for doors of opportunities to open, however it seems none can go through it, keys given but doors are locked from the inside. I say the "Inside" because you know? Youth Ministry within Church boundaries have to grow together...goals same or not?...financially are we crippling the church?...able to have a full time not?...are the youths part of Brighton Community or Brighton Youth? etc. Do not want to deal with all does debative topics because it will only disable progression, why not see what we have and maximise it!
Coming back. Ian's desire have to wait but now??? Ian is jobless :( however he is a man with a mission. Ian wants to go back to his creative roots. He is going back to do theatre but will theatre want to do anything with Ian ever again? Ian turned his back on the art that God purposed in him in the first place! Gotten all his confidence and developed speech from there to craft the preaching of His word. Can he really go back to theatre? Will look here time and again and you will know :)
Next few things that are coming up for Ian
1) CHC Theological College April-August07
2) Work with Cake Theatrical Production [Thank you Natalie for the opportunity]
3) Finding a part time job that will sustain my daily bills and fills of his bottomless stomach :P
Pray for me as I am gearing to be
1) Financially stable
2) Establishing myself back into theatre
3) Making REVOLUTION within my cell group
4) Making Keng Yee the best disciple she can be for Jesus
5) Having Angela as happy as she can be
